The Anglican Communion The Episcopal Church (TEC) is one of the 38 autonomous member provinces that together make up the Anglican Communion. This fellowship of member provinces, or churches—77 million Anglicans spanning 164 nations—adheres on the basis of each province’s communion with, and recognition by, the See of Canterbury, headquartered at Lambeth Palace in London, England.
